Jake's World Cup Predictor Blog

A World Cup blog for predictions and any other random thoughts that I might have over the next 6 weeks or so. Should be updated with scores, predictions and rants about poor refereeing, lucky Germans and why we can't take penalties.

Day 5 standings

1 Jake 40
2 Andy 38
3= Steve 33
3= Tim 33
5 Stu 31
6 Phil 29

Brazil v Croatia 1-0

The Brazilians are coming...which means that every man with a camera will be after pictures of very attractive half-naked Brazilian women......and who can blame them?
Only Tim & Steve do not have Brazil reaching the final, but everyone predicts them to be semi-finalists at worst. If there's a shock in this group, Croatia are probably the only team likely to be able to provide it.
Here are the predictions for this match
Steve 5-2, Phil 3-1, Stu 2-0, Jake 2-1, Andy 1-0 & Tim 2-2

Andy will be happy with that result - and all the other teams in the competition will be too - Brazil were not great and Croatia could have got something from this game. Back by popular demand (Phil) is this photo. I hope this makes him happy!

France v Switzerland 0-0

Les Bleues kick off their campaign at 5pm - many people's favourites - although interestingly none of us have gone for them. But If Henry et al play as we know they can, they could prove to be unstoppable.
France v Switzerland
Jake & Andy 2-1, Steve & Phil 2-0, Stu 1-0, Tim 2-2

Tim gets 3pts, Stu & Phil 1pt in a French disappointment.

South Korea v Togo 2-1

Here are the predictions for the South Korea v Togo game:
Jake, Stu & Tim 2-1, Steve 4-1, Andy 1-0 & Phil 1-1

Jake, Stu & Tim all happy with that result, as are these boys above.
